Attendance
Every day on time
At Stonehill, we want every child to fulfil their potential and have the best start to life. In order for this to happen, it is essential that pupils have good attendance and come to school every day and on time’. There are 190 school days in the year, which leaves 175 days for attending appointments, taking holidays and spending time with family.
We monitor and celebrate good attendance regularly including:
Hoppity our attendance mascot is presented to the Nursery room with the best attendance each week
Certificates given out half termly to children with good attendance
Absence
If your child is unable to attend school, please phone the school office on 01332 341636 by 9.15am or 1pm. If you do not phone to tell us about your child, we will contact you and a home visit may have to be carried out.
Exceptional leave
The Department for Education states that no child is expected to be absent from school on holiday during term time. We expect parents will only take their child on holiday during the allocated school holidays, of which there are 175 a year to choose from. If your child needs to miss school, due to an exceptional holiday during term time, you must speak to the office and complete a leave of absence form. if you do this, you are at risk of losing your child’s place at Stonehill Nursery.
